Appendix C - Gaming Rules and Regulations

Section I - Battleshots Contract

ALL PLAYERS ARE REQUIRED TO SIGN THIS FORM PRIOR TO PARTICIPATION IN THE TOURNAMENT

Definitions:

Abv – Alcohol by Volume.

Alcoholic Beverage – As defined in The Roommate Living Agreement Section VI, Subsection c.

Drink – One twelve (12) ounce beer or cooler, or one and a half (1.5) ounces of spirits or six (6) ounces of wine.

Ship – A vertical or horizontal arrangement of shot glasses.

Shot – One (1) ounce of spirits with an alcohol by volume (abv) content greater than fifteen (15) percent (30 proof).

Shot Glass – A beverage container which holds approximately one (1) ounce.

Waste Disposal Container – A toilet and/or a green/black garbage bag and/or or a plastic grocery bag that may be tied.

Regulations:

  1. Regulations for teams:
    1. A team may consist of no more than two (2) players.
    2. Teams are bound by the rules set out in Regulations for Battleshots Game-play
  2. Regulations for the board and beverage containers for use in the tournament:
    1. Each round will be played on an approved board which consists of a ten (10) by ten (10) grid with letters along the y-axis, starting with ‘A’ in the top left corner, ending with ‘J’ and numbers along the x-axis, starting with ‘1’ in the top left corner and ending with ‘10’ in the top right corner.
    2. Each board must be coated with a clear plastic surface to prevent damage from spilled beverages.
    3. Plastic shot glasses must be used. Glass shot glasses are strictly prohibited.
    4. Teams may provide their own shot glasses on the condition that each has a capacity of at least one (1) ounce.
    5. Each team will construct one (1) ship of length five (5), one (1) ship of length four (4), two (2) ships of length three (3) and one ship of length two (2).
    6. To construct the ships described in Section 2, Subsection e, each team will be required to provide seventeen (17) shot glasses.
  3. Regulations for Battleshots Game-play:
    1. If you don’t have a partner you drink for your whole team.
    2. BYOB
    3. The tournament will be run using the Double Knockout format.
    4. Each team must dress according to a theme mutually agreed upon by each player.
    5. All players must pay an entrance fee which will go towards a grand prize.
    6. A best 2 of 3 Rock-Paper-Scissors contest will determine which team starts off each game.
    7. Teams take alternating turns calling out a coordinate at which they think is part of a ship. If guessed correctly that drink must be drunk by a member of the team to which it belongs.
    8. Spillage of an opposing teams drinks will result in a loss of that game.
  4. Regulations for beverages used:
    1. Each player is required to provide his/her own beverages.
    2. A shot is comprised of at least one (1) ounce of fifteen (15) percent abv alcohol.
    3. Beverages with an abv content less than fifteen (15) percent but more than or exactly ten and one fifth (10.2) percent may be used. For these beverages, a shot is defined as being at least three (3) ounces.
    4. Beverages with an abv content less than ten and one fifth (10.2) percent but more than or exactly four and nine tenths (4.9) percent may be used. For these beverages, a shot is defined as being at least six (6) ounces.
    5. Beverages with an abv content less than four and nine tenths (4.9) percent but more than or exactly four (4) percent may be used. For these beverages, a shot is defined as being at least nine (9) ounces.
    6. All of the regulations set out in Storage of Third Party Alcoholic Beverages apply and shall be enforced.
  5. Regulations for extraordinary circumstances:
    1. Should a player be unable to contain the contents of their stomach and choose to evacuate the contents of their stomach into a non-waste disposal container, their remaining beverages shall be seized up to a maximum of thirteen (13) ounces or spirits and/or twelve (12) twelve (12) ounce containers of beer and/or twenty six (26) ounces of wine. The remaining beverages shall be returned to the player no sooner than twelve (12) hours after the conclusion of the tournament.
    2. Should Section 5 Subsection a come into affect the teammate of the guilty party is responsible for cleanup of any mess. Failure to comply will result in the same penalty for both teammates.
    3. Players who choose to empty the contents of their stomach into waste disposal containers shall not be penalized in accordance with Section 4, Subsection a.
    4. Any damages caused by any player are the sole responsibility of the player who caused them.
    5. Should the residents of the building be charged with any by-law violations, each person participating in the tournament will be required to pay a fraction of the resulting fine. This fraction will be calculated by dividing the cost of the fine by the number of participants.

FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THESE REGULATIONS MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION FROM THE TOURNAMENT, THE INELIGIBILITY TO COMPETE IN FUTURE TOURNAMENTS AND/OR REMOVAL FROM THE PREMISES.

I the undersigned agree to be bound by the above conditions, as well as all applicable conditions set out in the Roommate Living Agreement. Failure to comply will result in disqualification from the tournament, the ineligibility to compete in any future tournaments or other events and/or temporary or permanent removal from the premises. Furthermore, I hereby relinquish all rights to my soul to Hayward thy Great.

Failure to sign and abide by these regulations will result in immediate disqualification.

Should any discrepancy arise between actual conditions and the regulations set out in this contract, this contract is assumed to be correct. Further enquiries can be made to either Jordan Bussanich, Ian Pasiak, Hayward Peirce or Simon Perrault.
