Road Traffic Act
PREAMBLE
This Act defines regulations pertaining to the use of publicly constructed roadways.
ARTICLE 1: DEFINITIONS
- Dual Carriageway - A Road where Traffic of opposing directions is physically separated.
- Intersection - The point at which two or more Roads meet.
- One-Way Road - A Road where Traffic moves only in one direction.
- Road - Any publicly constructed surface intended for transporting persons or goods.
- Traffic - Any person, vehicle or other method of transportation using a Road.
ARTICLE 2: BASIC TRAFFIC LAW
- All Traffic must keep to the right.
- Except when making a left turn at an Intersection from a Dual Carriageway or a One-Way Road.
- Except when overtaking other Traffic.
- The vehicle or person that first arrived at an Intersection has
right of way.
- If two or more vehicles or persons arrived at an Intersection at the same time, the vehicle or person furthest to the right has right of way.
- If the vehicle or person is travelling on a Priority Road, they do not have to give way unless their intended maneover obstructs oncoming Traffic.
- All traffic must give right of way when faced with a Give Way sign.
ARTICLE 3: SPEED LAW
- All Traffic must travel at a reasonable and prudent speed.
- Except where prohibited by signage.
