Commerce, Retail, and Currency Act

This act outlines the limitations of actions pertaining (but not limited) to commerce, the economy, and taxation.

ARTICLE 1: RIGHTS OF THE INDIVIDUAL

  1. All persons have the right to possess any quantity of legally obtained currency or debt.

ARTICLE 2: RETAIL LICENSING

  1. Persons buying, selling or otherwise conducting a transaction of any item with a quantity greater than thirty-two (32) shall do so at a government licensed retail location.
  2. Retail licences shall be awarded by the Government.

  5. All persons and entities operating a retail outlet must display their retail licence in plain view.
  6. The Government may revoke any retail licence at any time.
    1. EXCEPT if the holder of the licence is in good standing.
    2. The Government shall inform the licence holder twenty-four (24) hours prior to the revocation of their licence that their licence is being revoked.
    3. The holder of the revoked licence shall have the right to appeal the revocation in court, provided it has not been fourteen (14) days since the licence was revoked.
  7. The following categories of retail licence shall be made available:
    1. A Class A Retail Licence shall have the following provisions:
      1. Class A Retail Licences shall be issued, without limitation for a fee of Five-Hundred Dollars ($500.00).
      2. The fee in (2.7.a.i) may be amended per the Constitution Act, 2015 (4.1).
      3. The holder of a Class A Retail Licence shall only retail goods specified in the Crown Corporation Act (Appendix A).
      4. A Class A Retail Licence shall apply to only a single location.
      5. Violation of any of (2.7.a) shall result in a maximum fine of Ten-Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) and/or revocation of some or all of the offender's Class A Retail Licences.
    2. A Class B Retail Licence shall have the following provisions:
      1. Class B Retail Licences may bear the name of the specific Class B Good or Service they pertain to.
      2. The Government may set limitations on which Class B Goods and Services a specific Class B Retail Licence Pertains to.
      3. Potion Retail Licences shall be issued pursuant to the Potion Control Act, 2015
      4. Enchanted Tool Retail Licences shall be issued pursuant to the Enchanted Tools Act, 2015.
      5. The holder of a Class B Retail Licence shall only retail the goods or services of which their licence grants them the authority to do.
      6. A Class B Retail Licence shall apply to only a single location.
      7. Violation of any of (2.7.b) shall result in a maximum fine of Fifty-Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) and/or revocation of some or all of the offender's Retail Licences.
    3. The Government may create additional categories of licences per the Constitution Act, 2015 (4.1).
    4. The Government may remove existing categories of licences per the Constitution Act, 2015 (4.1).
      1. The Government shall not revoke any existing licences if the holder is in good standing when the category is removed.

ARTICLE 3: BUSINESS OPERATION

  1. A business is any operation by one or more players with the intention to offer goods or services to one or more other players on the Server where that activity is subject to Article 2, Section 1
  2. A business shall only retail products of which their licence grants them to do so.

ARTICLE 4: CURRENCY

  1. The name of the currency is the Dollar.
    1. The basic monetary unit shall be the Cent.
    2. One hundred (100) Cents shall make up one (1) Dollar.

ARTICLE 5: LOANS AND DEBT

  1. All persons have the responsibility to repay their debts.
  2. The government, or a private entity, may issue a loan, of any amount, to any person, provided that the interest rate does not exceed five percent (5.0%) compounded daily.
  3. Should an individual be unable to repay their debts, they may choose to declare bankruptcy.
    1. Should a player choose to declare bankruptcy all of their remaining assets shall be turned over to an arbitrator, appointed by the Government. The arbitrator shall be responsible for the fair distribution of the players remaining assets.
